Pulwama,January 19(KD):In a decisive action against narcotics trafficking, Police in Pulwama have unearthed a drug concealment at Mohanviji, Kakpora, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of contraband substance.
Acting on specific and credible information that one Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohammad resident of Mohanviji, Kakpora, had allegedly stored a huge quantity of Charas inside his residential house. Taking cognizance of the information, a case FIR No. 06/2026 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act was registered and investigation was formally initiated.
Subsequently, after obtaining a search warrant from the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Pulwama, a well-coordinated search operation was conducted at the residential premises of the accused in the presence of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Kakpora, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols.
The search led to the recovery of 04 kilograms of semi-grinded Charas-like substance along with 400 grams of Charas powder, which were seized on the spot following due procedure. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the contraband.(KD)
